Video: Rappelling on several connected Skyhooks

Controversial and specific – I advise against imitation. It’s hard to say from how many skyhooks an anchor point can be considered “safe.” But I like to use two skyhooks with an aramid accessory cord as one questionable point. In the comments, some suggested tying a knot in the sling for redundancy… but I prefer to use a second or even third set instead. With elastic prusik loops made from shock cord, the hooks stay under tension and don’t fall to the ground with the slightest movement.

This way of creating an anchor point is very unconventional and almost never necessary. As soon as you have removable doors, wall openings, bullet holes, furniture, or several colleagues/comrades, there are many, many other options that are significantly safer and often even faster. Still, it’s not a bad idea to keep this method in your rope technique toolbox.
