AustriAlpin RIG-IT one2three – Durable Rigging Plate with Large Opening
This is a short review where I primarily introduce the product and provide a first impression. This allows me to present products earlier without being held back by my high standards for depth and detail.
The AustriAlpin RIG-IT one2three rigging plate is a strong central point for less complex anchor setups.
Material: Anodized aluminum
Weight: 242g
Dimensions: 126 x 140 x 10mm
Color: Red or Black
Standard: PPE reg. (EU) 2016/425, UIAA 130
The plate has five holes with a 22mm diameter and one large opening.

It is the smallest of the three rigging plates from AustriAlpin, which have recently been introduced to the market.

The rounded edges and the 1 cm thickness are gentle on textiles.

This allows slings and ropes to be threaded directly through the openings, saving carabiners and length.

Now, the large opening comes into play. Here, you can attach suitable slings using a girth hitch for a simple and compact setup.

Alternatively, it can also be used for two or more carabiners. However, you have to keep in mind that carabiners can shift in the opening when the load direction changes slightly. That’s why the large opening is better suited for textiles. Two 30 cm slings are therefore a great addition 😉

Conclusion
I’ve been using the rigging plate for some time now and have really come to appreciate it.
Primarily, I use it as the lower anchor point for diagonal high lines and for setting up abseiling systems. It’s perfect for organizing the rope for the person rappelling and for a belay line. You still have additional holes free for a simple haul system for rescues or for attaching two personal tethers.
Together with two Mamba slings, you can quickly create a basic anchor around steel beams or trees for simpler systems. To use the large hole with carabiners, 1–2 round slings make a great addition.
I’ll continue to update this review over time.
