This video, which was intended more as entertainment, raised a few questions. One of them: <strong>How much load can a broomstick actually take as a door anchor?<\/strong> I tested it and explained the it in this video:<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Broomstick-Anchor for Rappelling?\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4aOgeWZSmyM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n<p>The video also shows load tests where I measured the breaking strength using a Linescale 3: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linegrip.com\/linescale-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.linegrip.com\/linescale-3\/<\/a><br \/>\nThe result was that <strong>with the Dyneema sling placed to the side<\/strong>, the first broomstick broke at <strong>2.84\u202fkN<\/strong> and the second at <strong>3.4\u202fkN<\/strong>. Out of curiosity, I tested the second one again with the sling placed in the center.
