Here you can see how small and compact a 60m length is. And with a low weight of only around 2,5kg. \"\" The 60m rope fits perfectly into the Berghaus FLT IR M side pocket, which has a capacity of approximately 8 liters. A helmet and water bottle are used for size comparison. \"\"<\/p>\n

Construction<\/h2>\n

The rope is made of Technora and Polyester. The sheath, reinforced with Technora fibers, is abrasion- and heat-resistant. The rope shown here has already been through a lot but still shows only slight signs of wear. \"\"<\/p>\n

The high-tech rope is a kernmantle rope. The core is made of a mix from UHMWPE and polypropylene, which ensures exceptionally low water absorption.The Technora in the sheat offers high abrasion and heat resistance.\"\"<\/p>\n

The rope ties well. And with a breaking strength of approximately 29 kN in a single strand, even with knots, you’re left with around 14 kN, which is still substantial. \"\"<\/p>\n

Field of Application<\/h2>\n

Primarily, I use the rope to connect multiple anchor points. Then, I either create a central point with a knot. \"\"<\/p>\n

Or I use it with a rigging plate. \"\"<\/p>\n

With a figure-eight knot and a clove hitch, the width in the carabiner is approximately 24mm. With an 11mm static rope, a clove hitch alone takes up about 22mm. Therefore, standard HMS carabiners work well for this type of setup. \"\"<\/p>\n

And the rope is also well-suited for rappelling. However, it’s important to use the correct descender to ensure sufficient friction.  <\/p>\n

Color<\/h2>\n

The beige combined with the black makes the rope relatively light in color. It blends particularly well with light stone and concrete. Here is the nearly new rope on Multicam.

Conclusion<\/h2>\n

A lightweight high-tech rope that stands out particularly for its low weight and minimal stretch.
\nField of Application<\/strong>
\nI see this rope as an excellent option for carrying a lightweight rope for rappelling. It also performs well for heavy-duty tensioning in tripods or gin poles. Additionally, you can save weight with this rope when setting up spider or block anchors. When building pulley systems, this rope impresses with its low friction and minimal stretch. According to the manufacturer, the rope absorbs very little water, making it ideal for use in wet conditions as well.
\nCompatibility with Devices<\/strong>
\nOne drawback of such thin ropes is that many devices are not designed for such a small diameter. Therefore, you primarily rely on HMS and tubes from mountaineering (like the Black Diamond Alpine Guide). Clamping devices like the Petzl Tibloc, Nano Traxion, etc., also work well here.<\/p>\n

\nWell-suited for rappelling on a double rope. On a single rope, however, it may provide too little friction, so it might be necessary to increase friction using a second carabiner.<\/p>\n

Madrock Safeguard<\/span>
\nUnfortunately, according to the manufacturer, it is only rated for “rigging” from 8.1mm onwards. But possibly usable for positioning or as a fall restraint. Less suitable for rappelling, as it tends to run rather roughly.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/strong>
\nI primarily see this rope as a rappel line and for lightweight anchor setups in rescue operations. Especially in the mountains, this rope can save weight and thus conserve the team’s strength. I don’t see this rope being used in regular climbing sports.<\/p>\n
